Hide and Seek

New Year's Eve we played hide and seek with some friends who have an older boy.  He chose some awesome hiding places and gave our daughters some ideas they had never thought of.  Tonight we played hide and seek.  On one round Molly pulled the stool up and hid on top of the washer.  Well it didn't stop there and the next round she decided to hide in the washer.  All fun and games until she realized her head was stuck.  She started to scream and Jon and I came running.  It was so hard to get her out - but that was because Jon and I couldn't stop laughing.  She was so funny telling us to call fireman Sam because he would rescue her.  While Molly was screaming at us her sisters were crying and screaming.  While pulling her out she was screaming my purse, my purse.  I tried to tell her not to worry about her purse until I realized it was tangled around her arms and head and was really hurting her.  After getting the purse untangled we managed to pull her out by her legs. 

We said no more washer for the game - next round we found her in the dryer.  Ahh funny girl.  Fun times.

Hiking!

We decided to take the girls up north and hike a trail that Jon had been to with some of the guys from his unit for PT.  Since he had been on this hike before he knew there was a McDonald's right near the site.  We told the girls about this and they wanted to spend the gift card a friend gave them for Christmas.  The girls used their cards to buy themselves happy meals that came with pokeman toys. 

Once they had finished their meals we loaded up and drove around a little lost until Jon found the right spot.  Lets remember that this was a hike Jon went on with his soldiers - about an hour into the hike Molly was a little less than thrilled.  We made it about 2 hours before reaching our peak!  When Jon hiked they went down this one and up to the taller but our little trooper was DONE.  The girls did enjoy nature a little but when asked what she preferred to do Molly picked shopping every time.

Celebrating - why not?

The past few nights I haven't been too big into cooking dinner since we have so many dips.  Jon the master of making things awesome decided that we should have a candlelight dinner movie theater.  As he was about to bring our kitchen table into the living room I was able to convince him to use one of our plastic tables that fold up - since I am a little less fun and more practical.  We pulled out our fancy 4th of July tablecloth,  candles that have been lighting up our windows and sparkling cider.  Jon required everyone to dress up and even threw on a tie himself.  We enjoyed the movie and dinner of popcorn and corn dogs with sparkling cider.

Yesterday we watched the Baylor game with some fellow Bears.  We had tons of dips and everyone munched the day away watching the game live.  It was a sad game since we lost but at least we were able to watch with friends and eat some awesome food.

New Years Eve Party

For New Years we went to a friends house to party in the new year.  We dressed the girls in their PJ's so when the crashed we could take them home and they would be ready for bed.  Little did we know that our girls were fighters and refused to sleep - they partied until 1am and then woke up at 8am the next day.  We played hide and seek in the dark.  Our girls didn't understand the concept of being stealthy so they would yell I am hiding in the bathroom which would then give away our location but they had fun.  Some of the kids were pretty amazing and hard to find.  We had a snow ball fight that I found on pinterst - it was with jumbo marshmallows since we don't have snow.  The kids loved it but I think the parents had a little more fun:)  During the night we played games, ate tons of dip and at midnight popped our poppers and played a little more until we were all exhausted.   It was a fun way to celebrate 2014!

NeNe and PaPa last few days

We pushed through the last few days and went to Shuri Castle, a lighthouse and a few parks.  Some things that are great about living here is they make everything exciting for kids - even castles.  At the information desks they have these maps that you get stamped at stations located all over the grounds.  It gives you an incentive to see the entire palace area and not just certain areas. When we got to the kings thrown Molly kept asking if that is where King Jesus lives.  Trying to explain that Jesus wasn't the king of this palace was not going to stick so we just started saying yes after she asked about 10 times and didn't like our answers.  After collecting all our stamps we turned in our maps to get a prize - a sheet of stickers!

The next day we went to Cape Zanpa and walked around a lighthouse, went to a ship playground and  to a castle Jon runs to during PT. 

For the final day here is finally cleared up and was the normal temps for around here.  We went to a roller slide for some fun times and walked around, got ice cream and enjoyed our last full day we our visitors.  When dropping off the grandparents there were lots of tears but we made it.  The girls enjoyed their first visitors and I think we took them to all the major points in a few short days.  They can't wait for the next round!

NeNe and PaPa North Part of the Island

Days 4 and 5 we hit the north part of the island.  We got a hotel room at Okuma which is a military resort with lots of fun things to do.  It was pretty dreary, rainy and cold (relatively speaking) so we did a few things but hung out in the hotel a lot.  Lucky for us the girls really wanted to be in the room not because of weather but because something about a hotel excites them!  We rode bikes, played games and watched Jon and his dad huddle over a charcoal fire in the rain to cook our dinner.  The next day we went to the aquarium which was great minus the outside dolphin show where the ball flew off the dolphins nose because of the wind and we got a little wind blown.  After that we took Jon's parents to one of our favorite places - Pizza in the Sky!!  We sat outside next to a heater and pots filled with hot bricks to keep our toes warm.  After a super busy few days everyone crashed once we got home.
